Cathy Andorfer, PhD, is the director of a large team of medical science liaisons supporting both dermatology and rheumatology pipelines at a global pharmaceutical company. She has broad experience from academic bench science to translational medicine to biotech and pharma.
After many rewarding years at the bench doing basic and translational research at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the Mayo Clinic, she took a leap into biotech and medical affairs, starting as an MSL and evolving into leadership roles of increasing responsibility. She is convinced that the MSL role is one of the most engaging and rewarding careers available to scientists and clinicians. She recently published the career guide, The Art of Excellence: Build a Career as a Rockstar Medical Science Liaison and Beyond. Cathy is passionate about mentoring new and aspiring MSLs to achieve excellence so that they can communicate high quality science and clinical data to allow healthcare professional to provide the best in patient care. Outside of her life in medical affairs, she loves painting, writing and free time with her husband and rescue puppy.
